The Huge Number of Small Breweries Creates a Beer Glut
  + stars: | 2023-01-05 | by ( Mike Jordan | ) www.wsj.com   time to read: 1 min
The long-building craft-beer boom is showing signs of slowing down. Craft beer’s popularity has risen nationwide for more than a decade, and breweries have become a calling card for up-and-coming neighborhoods and communities, giving residents and visitors new places to gather and enjoy a taste of their towns. I HAVE VISITED the Bahamas around 10 times in the last 25 years, beginning in 1998, for a company retreat. That year the Royal Towers of the Atlantis resort on Paradise Island were just opening, more than doubling the room count to 2,300 and making it the largest resort in the Caribbean at the time. For a young adult experiencing the West Indian islands for the first time, that manicured enclave just off the main Bahamian island of New Providence felt like paradise. But that year also marked the completion of the Sir Sidney Poitier Bridge, connecting Paradise Island to Nassau, the Bahamian capital and largest city on New Providence island. Though I spent that first trip giddily contained in a resort bubble, seeing my godfather’s name on the road signs made me wonder if a more authentic version of the Bahamas lay across the bridge.

On the opening weekend of “Black Panther” four years ago, Camille Stephens-Jamerson bought 28 tickets for family, threw on a dashiki and headscarf and enjoyed “Black Panther” in a crowded movie theater in suburban Detroit. For the Marvel sequel, “Wakanda Forever,” her family is renting out an entire theater where they’ll watch dressed in all white, the color worn by the movie’s characters during a funeral for T’Challa, the fallen king of Wakanda.
FashionMany men—including Jim Carrey—grew wild whiskers during lockdown. While some want to hang onto them, others argue the look is too unkempt for the office. Here, some guidelines.
